Mr. Siwatibau is a commercial lawyer with over 30 years’ experience and is owner of the legal firm Siwatibau and Sloan. He started his legal career in New Zealand where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property. He now specialises in construction and infrastructure projects, and consulting on legal analysis of various sectors and industries in the country. He also consults on community-based projects and liaises with various institutions in Fiji on appropriate community structures for conservation, traditional, and commercial projects. He has wide experience in general corporate commercial projects, and regulatory compliance work. In his capacity as Director, he provides specialist advise on Maxumise projects and services to clients. Mr. Siwatibau is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand (admitted 1996) and a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Fiji (admitted 2003). He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Business Administration and an LLB in Commercial and Corporate Law from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.
